The MHS Training Center offers a wide selection of training classes. Classes range from basic training classes, such as Puppy Kindergarten and Everyday Canine Essentials to competition levels of Obedience, Agility and Rally Obedience. Specialty classes and 1-hour clinics are offered frequently to help troubleshoot training issues. Our class curriculum are focused on teaching your dog necessary life skills and behaviors through the use of reward-based training methods. Our friendly and experienced training staff enjoy teaching people and their canine companions. Our trainers continue to expand their working knowledge of dog training and learning by attending many seminars, trials and classes annually. Several of our instructors are Certified Professional Dog Trainers, and others are currently working on requirements to become CPDTs. To learn more about our trainers, click here. Our premier training facility is an indoor 4,000 square foot room with Top Dog rubber flooring, which is non-slip and cushioned. Agility dogs won't slip on the floor and delicate joints are protected. The Training Center is climate-controlled during all seasons, provides lots of natural lighting, is handicapped accessible and offers convenient parking with easy access into our facility. We offer hourly rentals to individuals looking for a place to train on their own or to exercise their dog in a safe, indoor facility. Hourly rentals include the use of our gating, rally and obedience equipment and, upon permission, our agility equipment. The MHS Training Center frequently hosts educational seminars aimed at the pet owner and dog-sport competitor, continuing education for dog professionals, APDT Rally Obedience Trials and CDSP Obedience Trials, and occasional guest instructors to the Monadnock Region. Registering for a class, workshop, trial or your purchase from our retail area, helps supports the more than 2,000 homeless animals cared for by MHS.
