Dear
MHS,
Late
in the spring of 1989, my Mother decided to acquire a cat. She
had spent most of her adult life in the company of dogs, but a
broken hip curtailed her ability to walk even the smallest of
canines. So, a cat it was, not a kitten, but a more mature cat.
One Saturday afternoon Clyde, who became known as Burbank, entered
our lives. He was a spirited cat who for nearly eleven years was
inseperable from my Mother.
When
my Mother wen to stay in a nursing facilty, Burbank came to stay
with my family of humans and animals. Burbank was diagnosed with
diabetes and with cancer. He was already 14 years old and the
vet did not think he would do well in surgery. Undeterred, Burbank
remained the self-possessed cat he had always been - somewhere
between Morris and Garfield. Slowly he did begin to sleep more
and be mischievous less until one day when he was at peace.
For
the gift of a remarkable cat's company, a decade and a half of
grateful thanks!

Lisa,
I
thought you and the staff might like to see how Lila is doing
in her new home. I am thrilled to report that she fits in great
- it's like she was always here. This has been the easiest animal
transition we've had - ever! Once we let her have free reign,
she was eating and sleeping beside her 3 'siblings' almost immediately.
Now even our old boyBuddy (he's 10) is flying around the house
(with Lila in pursuit!) He's like a kitten again. So thanks so
much for picking out 'Crystal' for us. We love her alot and I
think that she loves us too!
Sincerely,
Christie, Faulkner, Owen and Buddy, Lisa, Esme and Lila
P.S.
Thanks for all the great work you do for the animals.
