The Monadnock Humane Society Adoption & Learning Center in Swanzey is open with the following hours:
- Wednesday - Friday from Noon - 6 PM
- Saturday - Sunday from 11:00am - 4PM
The Monadnock Humane Society Adoption Center in Peterborough is open with the following hours:
- Wednesday - Friday from Noon - 6 PM
- Saturday - Sunday from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Please note that all animal supplies (pet food, treats, leads, collars, etc.) have been moved into the lobby to better serve you!

DIRECTIONS TO MHS SWANZEY
Directions to the Monadnock Humane Society from southeast (Boston): Take Route 128 North to 2 West. In Gardner, MA, pick up Route 140 North to 12 North. Follow 12 North to the traffic light in Keene, NH. Turn Left onto Route 101 West. Continue on Route 101 West until the traffic circle. Take 3rd exit off of circle to Route 10 South. MHS is about a mile down Route 10S on the right just past the Market Basket.
From southwest (Springfield, MA): Take Route 91 North to Exit 28A (Northfield). Turn right off the exit. At the "T" turn left onto Route 10 North. Follow Route 10N through Northfield, MA and into Winchester and then West Swanzey, NH. MHS will be on your left about 1/2 mile past The Cheshire Horse and gas station.
From the east (NH): Follow Route 101 West, through the Route 12 intersection, to the traffic circle in Keene. Take 3rd exit off of circle to Route 10 South. MHS is about a mile down Route 10S on the right.
DIRECTIONS TO MHS PETERBOROUGH
Directions to the Monadnock Humane Society Peterborough Adoption Center from Boston: Take I-93 N to I-95 S to US-3 N (exit 32A). This will become the Everett Turnpike once in Nashua, NH. Take Exit 8 (Hwy. 101A Bypass) for Route 101A W. Just before you enter Milford, turn left onto Route 101 W toward Peterborough. At the 2nd redlight, turn left onto Route 101 W. Go 14.5 miles into the town of Peterborough. After you pass the blinking yellow light and go down a large hill, turn right onto Granite Street (also Route 202/ Route 123). At the "Y" keep right onto Concord Street. We are on the right in the plaza with Dunkin Donuts and Brady's Restaurant.
From southwest (Springfield, MA): Take I-91 N to Exit 3 in Brattleboro. Go through the rotary to the 2nd exit onto Route 9 toward NH/Keene. Stay straight through Keene. At the rotary in Keene, take the 2nd exit for Route 101 E. Stay on Route 101 until you reach Peterborough. Turn left onto Granite Street (also Route 202/Route 123) after the Shell Gas Station. At the "Y" keep right onto Concord Street. We are on the right in the plaza with Dunkin Donuts and Brady's Restaurant.
