Tricks!
Not just for kids… Come and learn some new and exciting tricks for you and your dog! Kids and adults are welcome. A Good Manners class will be beneficial, but is not required. Your dog should have basic manners such as a sit and down command. Bring your best and most powerful doggie treats!
Therapy Dog
Limited to 8 dogs. Cost includes official Delta Society's Pet Partners Course Manual, Handouts and Test Fee. This class is designed to help you prepare for the Delta Society's Pet Partners Test. The Monadnock Humane Society matches people who have attended and passed the test with social service agencies in the community who request Therapy Dog visits. Prerequisite: Reliable Rover
AKC Canine Good Citizen
Canine Good Citizen training is fun, useful and will further enhance your connection with your dog. Open to all types of dogs - purebred, mixed, registered or not. The CGC program rewards dogs that have the training and demeanor to be reliable family members, as well as community members in good standing. The CGC Test will be conducted during the final class (test fee is included in the cost). Prerequisite: Reliable Rover
AKC Competition Obedience
This class is geared towards dog/handler teams interested in competing in Obedience Trails. Each week ring etiquette, scoring and rules, precision heeling exercises, fast recalls, fronts and finishes, and proofing solid stays will be worked on. Teams may also learn the following Open exercises: Drop and Recall; Retrieves on Flat and Over High Jump; and the Broad Jump. This class promotes a fun atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy the challenges of training towards your Obedience titles. Prerequisite: Reliable Rover
Pet First Aid This American Red Cross First Aid class is designed for the average pet owner. You will learn how to resuscitate your pet, treat burns, poisoning, fractures and other injuries, until you can get professional help. Pet First Aid Books are available in our Animal Tracks store for an additional fee.
APDT Rally Trial Preparation
This course is designed to help rally teams prepare for upcoming spring and summer Rally trials. We'll concentrate on both AKC and APDT style rally courses and exercises of all level. This competition class is open to anyone with rally or obedience experience who is interested in improving their existing skills. This class will be an enjoyable and supportive experience. Come join the fun!
Beginning Rally Obedience
Welcome to Rally! This class will introduce you to a fun and interactive dog sport! Rally is an enjoyable way to improve many of the obedience skills learned in Reliable Rover. The novice-level Rally exercises will be taught in this class, and you will practice these new skills both individually and as part of rally courses. Each week builds on the one before, culminating with a Rally Challenge during the last class!
Intermediate Rally Obedience
This course will pick up where Beginner Rally ended, with the addition of more challenging exercises and courses to improve your dog's heeling and attention. We'll focus on AKC Advanced and APDT Level 2 exercises. In addition, we'll work on off-leash healing, jumping and recalls to further advance your rally and obedience skills. Prerequisite: Beginner Rally Obedience.
Puppy Kindergarten
Get your puppy off to the best start possible in this course especially designed for puppies 8 - 16 weeks of age. Come and learn about puppy behavior, have your puppy play with others, and teach them basic behaviors. FIRST CLASS IS FOR HUMANS ONLY!
Good Manners
Designed for dogs as young as 16 weeks, and as old as... well, no dog is too old to learn! During this course, we'll discuss how dogs learn, and teach them the seven Foundation Behaviors: attention; sit; down; stays; come when called; leave it; and proper greeting. FIRST CLASS IS FOR HUMANS ONLY!
Reliable Rover I
Reliable Rover picks up where Good Manners left off! Games are used to make this class fun and interesting for both canine and human, focusing on Duration, Distraction and Distance. A good class not to miss, and it's also required to enroll in the Therapy Dog Class. Prerequisite: Completion of a Good Manners course.
Reliable Rover II
Whether your goal is competition obedience, a well-mannered dog, or simply to have fun with your dog, this class is going to be a blast. Games will be used to continue our work from Reliable Rover I in Duration, Distraction and Distance. A very rewarding experience for both human and canine! Prerequisite: Reliable Rover I.
Small Dog Puppy Kindergarten Get your small breed puppy (8 - 16 weeks of age) off to the best start possible. Come and learn about puppy behavior, have your puppy play with others, and teach them basic behaviors.Special attention to small dog issues. FIRST CLASS IS FOR HUMANS ONLY!
Small Dog Good Manners
Similar to our regular Good Manners class but specifically tailored to dogs weighing less than 25 pounds, you will learn the seven Foundation Behaviors: attention; sit; down; stays; come when called; leave it; and proper greeting. Special attention to small dog issues. First class is for humans only.
Small Dog Reliable Rover
